is now Fort Worth First Responder’s Day 
The city of Fort Worth experienced a great tragedy.
In the face of tremendous adversity, our city's first responders rose to meet the challenge, displaying the strength and courage that makes Fort Worth a proud city.
To celebrate these amazing men and women, our first responders - February 11th will henceforth be recognized as “Fort Worth First Responders Day”.
We are introducing FW 2.11
A Community Empowered Give-Back Event.

We are asking for local citizens and organizations to “Champion” (sponsor) a specific first responder site on February 11th, 2022.

HOW IT
WORKS
(WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO)
Champion
Step 1/3
We are asking local businesses, churches, families, schools, and any other groups with a heart to give, to 'Champion' a First Responder site (location).
Currently you can Champion a Fire Station, Police Station, EMT Hub, and more.
Collect
Step 2/3
Each Champion group creates a ''Hero Pack'' which is composed of handwritten notes and practical items to create an amazing delivery of gifts for your selected location.
We've worked with First Responders to compile a list of practical items that they would love to receive.
Deliver
Step 3/3
On February 11th, each Champion group will go in person to hand-deliver their Hero Packs. Taking the opportunity to say “Thank You’’.
Finally, take a pic and/or video of your team with the First Responder team and post on social with the hashtag #FW211.

Who we Are
We are a very small group of Fort Worth citizens who experienced a great loss on February 11th, 2021, and we are determined to turn our tragedy to triumph.
Simply stated, we are a community effort to show thanks to our first responders on February 11th of this year, and with your help – each year to come.
Who we Are NOT
We are not a 501c3 (or a nonprofit of any kind). We do not handle donations of any kind – e.g. cash or donated products.

Getting Started
How do I get started?
Sign-up is simple. Go to our Become A Champion page and give us a little information about yourself and your group/family/organization. Select a location that you would like to Champion and start collecting items from the first responders shopping list.
After signing up, we’ll be in touch via email with further steps and the specific plan for the big day.
Can I make a cash donation? Can I donate goods?
We do not accept donations or monetary gifts. In the spirit of this community give back effort, we want all participants to show up in person to deliver their collected “Hero Packs” (donated items and handwritten notes).
Do I need to live in Fort Worth to be involved?
You do NOT need to live in Fort Worth to participate, however, you or a representative of your Champion Group should appear in person to deliver your Hero Pack on February 11th.

Does my group qualify to be a Champion?
Champions can be churches, companies, families, fantasy football leagues, book clubs, or anyone with a big heart to give back to our first responders.

How many items do I need to collect to “Champion” a site?
We have an estimated headcount for each location listed here.
No contribution is too big or too small. Contributions can be as simple as a single thank you card and a few items from the shopping list – to the overachieving group who buys everything on the shopping list. All size contributions will be appreciated by our First Responders.
I signed up to be a Champion, now what?
Now that you are signed up, your Champion group begins collecting your “Hero Pack”. The Hero Pack consists of handwritten notes (thank you cards) from your group, as well as items from the shopping list.
On February 11th, you and your Champion group will hand-deliver your Hero Pack and post a photo and/or video of your team with your First Responders on social, with the hashtag #FW211.

(“Hero Pack” consists of handwritten notes or thank you cards from your group, as well as items from the shopping list)
Do I need to notify my site before showing up on Feb. 11th?
We recommend each Champion group contact their First Responder site 48 hours ahead of time, just to give them a heads up.
Can I only bring the items listed in the hero packs?
No, go ahead and put your own spin on it. The list that we have compiled represents requests of practical items of first responders that we polled. But don’t be limited by these suggestions, feel free to get creative.
About FW 2.11
How did FW 2.11 start?
On February 11, 2021, the city of Fort Worth experienced a great tragedy in the form of an unprecedented 130+ car pile-up on Interstate 35. This horrific event claimed six lives with many more injured. Our city’s first responders were instrumental in providing help when needed. It is because of their heroic actions on that day, that we now recognize February 11th as Fort Worth First Responder’s Day.
What does "FW 2.11" mean?
“FW 2.11” is an abbreviation of “Fort Worth February 11th.”
Is FW 2.11 a non-profit (501c3)?
We are NOT a non-profit organization. We are simply a small group of citizens with a plan to empower our community to give back to first responders.
Is this effort tax-deductible?
FW 2.11 is NOT a nonprofit organization. We are simply a community give-back effort. You should consult your own tax, legal, and accounting advisors to determine any potential tax benefit.
My First Responder site isn't listed. Can I get it added?
We tried to account for all Fort Worth first responder sites, but it is very possible that we missed one. To submit your site for consideration please contact us here
